Luis Corral is a member of the Peoples Assembly of Southern Ecuador that brings together mining-affected communities in Ecuador's southern highlands and southern Amazon. Since 2006, Luis has accompanied mining-affected communities, principally Shuar Indigenous communities in the area of the Condor mountain range in the southern Amazon. Luis is a longtime member of popular urban assemblies in Quito, Ecuador. He is an economist with specializations in environmental economics and ecology, currently working on a Master's degree in sociology.
